Air (element)

In Alchemy, Air (scientific notation: Ae) comes third out of the six basic elements that make up the Dwaian realm. Air is distinct in its low density, flexibility, compressibility, and its tendency to scatter, as well as having a nice minty taste. It is essential in biology, where it serves as a catalyst for many biological processes. There is a full-fledged discipline of Magics devoted to Air, sometimes called the Aeromancies, though scientific literature refers to it as "blowing really hard".

Similar physical characteristics are shared between all aspectations of Air, particularly gaseousness.
Air is traditionally attributed to Wisdom, and its positive personality trait is nurturing, while its negative trait is skittish. In Gagank's temperamental chirality theory of alchemy, Air is the most turbulent of the base elements, free to occupy almost any of the ten spin-states.
