This article lists morphological roots of the Old Dwaian language, along with their meanings. It also includes descriptions of what words and word fragments these Old Dwaian roots evolved into.

List

Bon / Mon: person, mind. Evolved into the Dwaian Bo, the name of the element of consciousness. It occurs in the names of races, such as Eldbo and Cowbo, where it litterally means person/people. It is also often used in names of people, like Blombo, where it functions as a generic suffix. Bon also evolved into the Bepian word pon, meaning person.

Ok / Lok: orb, sphere. Can still be found in the name of the sphere-shaped Okxik.

Wak / Fak: waste, rot. Occurs in the name of the fearsome Dark Lord Fuccis.

Gol: beast, hound, hog. Can be found in the names of the races Bogo and Doggo (respectively meaning person-beast and hair-beast) where it was simplified to go.

Dos: hair, thread. Occurs in the shortened do form, in Dwaian Doggo, literally hair-beast.

Vim / Vik: magic, sorcery. The Old Dwaians were a technological society, and saw magic as a selfish and immortal endeavour. As such, this root has formed the modern Dwaian word wicked. However, modern Dwaian also refera to the fundamental magical energy as Vi or Vim.

Rar / Rara: stupid, gullible. An adjective the Old Dwaians would use in descriptions of some races on Dwaia. In ancient Dwaia, this adjective was not seen as derogatory but as a scientific factor. In modern Dwaia, however, the words have been transformed into retard / retarded and have become insultive.

Thos / Thost: charming, alluring. Now found in the form thot in words such as Thotism and Rothot.

Ronk / Ron: metal, hard. Can be found in the Dwaian words Robo and Rothot, where it is shortened to ro.
