Geometry

Dwaia's geometry appears as a cube from the perspective of it's inhabitants but it is actually an 8-cube, known as an octeract. Though connected geometrically, each 3D cube acts as it's own isolated world with only a few adventurers or higher dimensional entities purposely traversing between them. For sake of clarity, the inhabitants of Dwaia call each one of these worlds a "cell" and further define them by a number when referring to any specific one of them. In total there are 1792 cells.

Traversal

From a 3D perspective, cells are isolated from each other by height so one simply only needs to ascend or descend long enough until they either land on or break out of the surface of the neighboring cell. Practically however this is a rather difficult, costly and dangerous procedure so is rarely attempted however it is possible. Some cells are harder to enter or exit depending on it's orientation within the 8D structure; some lead to their plane of fire or be globally inhospitable for whatever reason. Among other reasons, this is why traversal between cells is often done by ascending rather than descending, as there is that visual contact with the surface before landing (assuming optimal weather conditions obviously).

There are a handful of people who do this for a living and with their expertise become sought-out guides for others wishing to travel to other cells, as well as some other entities these individuals are known as 'Celldwellers'. Some celldwellers only travel between two specific cells and set up ferrying services while others try to map uncharted ones to further explore what Dwaia has to offer.
