Due to the various different ways typhs can manifest within the universe, a nomenclature has to be established for these entities as a way of formally classifying them based off of their physical characteristics. The word 'Typh' is synonymous with 'Protector' or 'Guardian' and describes the general motive of these entities; which is to ensure the continued existence of an object, person, location or even concept and to also comfort the subject (usually in cases where the subject is a person) when applicable. Prefixes are appended to the word in order to describe a typh' physical characteristics, as an example: 'Geotyph' describes a typh which is composed of rock, magma, minerals, metals, or other materials associated with subterranean environments. Some of these may be sub classifications of other more broad ones. These sub classifications add specificity; whereas a geotyph would likely be composed of various different rock types and ores, something like an autotyph would specify that it is instead made out of processed or machined metals, sometimes resembling components. Below is a list of existing prefixes:

Ano: Primary classification, generally refers to a typh which embodies an inanimate object. Unable to move, these typhs usually act as passive psychological and emotional comforters and so can only affect living creatures.
