The Wussami (From local speech: Wuzzsamye), also known as flatfrogs, is a small mammal closely related to and resembling the frogling species. They are native to the rainforest areas in the southern part of the First Plane but annually travel northwards close to the water during hotter seasons, with some subspecies even traversing over the ocean to the coasts of the humid continental.

The wussami poses no threat of any kind to anything bigger than itself, as the wussami is a naturally social and curious creature, and prefers a heavy herbal diet; except for small insects. A wild wussami will try to avoid contact with other larger beings, but can be domesticated according to some cases.

Behavior and territory

The wussami are very friendly and small creatures, and therefore do not leave big footprints on nature; both due to their lack of strength but also because of a faintly understood relationship with nature. Their nests and communes can easily be missed by a bypasser without a keen eye. Their homes vary from groves under upturned trees, natural caves, and thick leafed trees. From observation, anything that conceals the wussami, and anything that does not leave a lasting mark on nature is perfect habitation. Territorial changes only happen during natural happenings: heavy rainfalls, earthquakes, storms etc.

Likewise with their nests, the wussami do not damage the surrounding nature when feeding from it. Their food habits have been observed as the most developed part of the species, boasting both primitive agriculture and understanding of crop rotation.

The wussami have also been observed to be fucking stupid. their leisurely activities include shitting in front of fellow wussamis for fun, running headfirst into trees and lyme disease.

Varients

The only two known subspecies of the wussami, are the wussama and wussamilectuals

Wussama

This subspecies of the wussami is the more closely related subspecies. They only major different being their darker skin tone, and larger legs with webbed feet to swim more effectively.

Wussamilectuals

This subspecies has gone extinct. Archeologists are even only guessing the existence of this subspecies by deciphering wall scripture and bones in unnaturally carved caves, closer to the south. The wall script, when translated, reads as follows we are a species of sorrow and depression. we cry over the fact that us more intellectual wussami have to breathe the same air as our retarded counterparts. we are better than this, but nobody will take us seriously. in relaliation towards the gods, we have chosen death by eating copious amounts of rocks. fuck you, god. why must you hate us so"
