The World of Dwaia, not to be confused with the Land of the same name, is a giant cube-shaped planet from a distant magical universe. It is populated by many different sentient races, such as Humans, Blobmen, Skeletons, Monster Girls, Bogos, Cowbos, Jovians, a Giant Sky Uterus, and so on.

History

The planet was once a perfect utopia created by a group of ancient tinkerers that learned how to control the laws of the universe, but then, in a catastrophe known as the Coin Incident, Dwaia's inner machinery was broken, sending society back to the Dark Ages. The very concept of Science was lost, and so even as the Dwaian populace discovered remnants of the ancient technologies that once made Dwaia tick, they were not able to properly learn from them and come to understand the machines and trinkets they found. Instead, they use them only as tools, as mysterious magical artifacts of unexplained inner workings. As a result, the Dwaians have several advanced technologies such as guns and robots, but lack, for instance, the ability to communicate quickly over long distances, and probably basic hygiene.

Sun, moon and climate

The planet Dwaia is in an orbit around its sun, Japaleno, and is orbited by its moon, Eggo. These orbits are unusual however, in that they're square shaped. Such orbits, known as "squorbits", are unable to rotate, leaving the bodies fixed in orientation to one another. As such, the sun is always in the south, and the moon always in the west. This has major consequences for the climate. The sun Japaleno emits an ambient aura of warmth and light, making land close to it hot, and land far from it cold. The moon Eggo is attracted to water. Luckily, due to it being locked in its squorbit, the moon does not come crashing down into the oceans. But it does mean that all water on Dwaia is weakly attracted to the west. As such, the far western side of the world is mostly island and fish people nations, while the far east is mostly dried out plains.

The northern, eastern, southern and western cardinal directions each come with their own face of the cube-shaped planet. This is where the climate is at it's most extreme. Hence, the southern plane is called the Plane of Fire, the western plane the Plane of Water, and so on, matching the four cardinal elements.

Lands of Dwaia:

The following places are some of the Lands on the Dwaian planet, mostly lying on the First Plane. They are referred to generically as "Lands", as they vary widely and may or may not have a government or even a population.
